SALVADOR LUJÁN

SALVADOR LUJÁN was born in Valencia.

He is a graduate in Composition and Orchestration from the Castellón Superior Conservatory. He qualified as a teacher of Sol-fa, Theory of Music, Sight Reading, Transposition and Piano at the Valencia Professional Conservatory of Music. He holds the Diploma of The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (UK) in Theory of Music.

His catalogue of works, which predominantly contains music for wind orchestra, has been performed and selected in numerous music contests.

He was nominated for the Euterpe Prize in 2009, in the Symphonic Music category, and has won various composition competitions such as the 17th and 18th editions of the "Villa de Pozo Estrecho" Music Composition Contest (Murcia); the 2nd "City of Valencia" Festive Music Contest (Valencia); the 3rd "Villa de Ortigueira" Iberoamerican Composition Contest (Galicia); and the 2nd and 3rd "Villa d'Albocàsser" National Composition Contest (Castellón). The majority of his works have been published by "Rivera Editores" and "Ab Música".

He was trained in Direction by Maestros Jan Cober, José Rafael Pascual Vilaplana and Ferrer Ferran.

In August 2008 he won the 1st "Cueva de Medrano" National Wind Band Direction Contest in Ciudad Real.
As a director he has won prizes in the "Villa de Bejís" Band Contest, the Valencia Provincial Contest and the "Villa de Aranda" National Band Contest.

He has been guest director of bands and orchestras in Valencia, Ciudad Real, Cuenca and Castellón.

He currently teaches Harmony and Analysis at the Castellón "Mestre Tárrega" Professional Conservatory of Music. He is the Principal Director of the San Blas de Teresa Music Association from Cofrentes (Valencia) and the Ayorense Music Association (Valencia).

He is a member of the SGAE and the Association of Valencian Symphonic Composers (COSICOVA).
