To recognize the personal dedication and contribution in favor of music, especially band music, of that person or persons, both natural and legal persons, who through their involvement and professional career have contributed to the honorability and prestige of the International Wind Band Contest «City of València» (hereinafter, CIBM) in modern times.
To visualize the importance and significance that the CIBM has had in the creation and evolution of band music, putting value on the performance, effort and successes of the progress obtained.
Rule 2. Recipients
Those natural persons or legal entities who jointly meet the following requirements may receive the recognition: having a professional career of at least 25 years and having contributed significantly to the development, dissemination and/or improvement of band music within the environment of CIBM València. Recognitions may be granted posthumously.
Rule 3. Categories of the recognitions
The categories of honorary recognitions that may be granted are the following:
3.1 Recognition natural person in life.
3.2 Recognition natural person posthumously.
3.3 Recognition legal entity.
Rule 4. Selection criteria
The criteria that will serve to select the candidate natural person or legal entity shall be one or more of the following:
Rule 5. Nominations and deadlines
Nominations may be presented by relevant musical entities of the Valencian Community such as the Federation of Musical Societies of the Valencian Community (FSMCV), the Coordinator of Musical Societies of the city of Valencia (COSOMUVAL), the Valencian Institute of Culture (IVC), the Higher Institute of Artistic Education of the Valencian Community (ISEACV), the Association of Valencian Symphonic Composers (COSICOVA), the Provincial Council of València (Culture Area), the Royal Academy of Fine Arts San Carlos, the José Iturbi Municipal Conservatory, the Academy of Valencian Music and the València Campus of Berklee College of Music.
In the event that no proposals are made by the relevant musical entities of the Valencian Community within the established period, it will be the members of the Organizing Committee of the International Wind Band Contest «City of València» of the 138th edition who will act as proposers.
To present a nomination it will be necessary to attach the curriculum vitae and supporting report of a maximum of 1,000 words.
The period for submitting nominations will be from the day following the approval of these rules until April 30, 2026, both inclusive. Nominations will be proposed by means of a general application submitted for this purpose through the Electronic Office of València City Council.

Rule 6. Jury
The Jury will be formed by the members of the Organizing Committee of the International Wind Band Contest «City of València» 2026, to whom it corresponds to validate and assess the nominations presented in accordance with the criteria of these rules and the granting of the Recognition.
The Jury will decide on the honored person or persons before the celebration of 2026 CIBM, communicating to him/her/them the obtaining of the recognition and the manner of delivery thereof.
Rule 7. Recognition
The honored person or persons will receive an accrediting plaque of the recognition received, disseminating the obtaining thereof, as well as the merits that justify it, on the CIBM València website.
The recognition(s) will be presented during the celebration of the events of 2026 CIBM.
